Altum Health is a self-funding organization run on sound business principles and practices. We are very proud of the fact that all profits from our services are contributed back to UHN to support public health services and research innovation and therefore the community in which we work. This is a unique financial model and exemplifies our social accountability. It directs and influences all of our activities rather than business decisions led purely by personal or organizational profit.

Habitat for Humanity

Altum Health makes ongoing contributions to Habitat for Humanity, a foundation dedicated to making affordable housing accessible to working families who earn less than the low-income cut-off. This is accomplished participating in building homes on a volunteer basis. 20 Staff participate in each build, which occurs semi-annually. In addition, Altum Health provides financial support toward the builds.

Work Well to Live Well

Altum Health Team, through the leadership of Dr. Raj Rampersaud, developed the “Work Well to Live Well” philanthropic project, with a goal to educate young workers in safe work practices, demonstrating our commitment to the WSIB “Road to Zero” philosophy. This project has partnered with Mr. Rob Ellis the Founder of Youth at Work. Staff from Altum Health actively provides education to youth on safety issues by visiting and speaking at high schools. Their key message is prevention. Teaching safe play and work practices now reduces work related injuries in the future.
